Accounting Clerk
Departments: Finance/Accounting
Reports To: Controller
FLSA Status: Hourly
Job Summary: The Accounting Clerk will serve as the company’s primarily billing/accounts receivable team member. The Accounting Clerk must have a solid working knowledge of general accounting practices and accounts receivable processes.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect billing information from all departments and create invoices in a timely manner
- Accurately setup billing items in computer system, assigning tax codes and revenue accounts
- Effectively reconcile monthly billing amounts and circuits
- Assist in keying of daily, weekly, and monthly accounting transactions
- Document, monitor and provide input to improving accounting policies and procedures
- Produce required ad-hoc reporting related to billing activities and revenue
Additional Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required to fulfill job function or as assigned by the Controller and or the CFO.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of:
- Accounting principles and procedures
- Hands-on experience with accounts receivable processes and account reconciliations
- Enterprise Accounting software experience, SAP by Design strongly preferred
- Skill to:
- Problem solve and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Gather and analyze information skillfully
- Dive into the details and ensure accuracy of all financial data
- Operate various types of office equipment such as a computer, copy machine, fax machine, and multi-line telephone.

- Promote the company positively with accurate information
- Think analytically and be a problem solver
- Foster collaboration and motivate team to meet company objectives and deadlines
- Communicate effectively, both in writing and in speaking, with customers, co-workers, and various business contacts in a courteous and professional manner

- Maintain confidentiality of company information and records as required
Education/Experience:
Any combination equivalent to the following education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities would qualify. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities would be:
- High School Diploma (or GED)
- 2-4 years of accounting clerical/bookkeeping experience
- Entry level college accounting classes preferred
- SAP by Design experience preferred
